Toronto Chapter updates: Populaires are quite popular!

Hiya folks!

WOW. Where did the winter go? Is it still here? Is it spring yet? Who knows, the weather certainly doesn't. But the cycling season has snuck upon us and we're just a week out!!

We've been working on some awesome stuff this off-season that's not quite ready yet. Expect more fun updates to come soon!

🚴 Ride leaders and sweeps

We're still collecting folks in being the ride leaders and sweeps this year. If you're interested in taking on one of these roles on an upcoming ride, reply to this email!

I'll be reaching out to the folks who previously expressed interest in this.

Ride Leader
A rider that is pushing the peloton at the front. Encouraging and supporting folks that are looking for a more competitive ride.

Ride Sweep
A rider that is hosting the groupetto at the back. Supporting folks looking for a party pace while still staying within the time limits.

🌤 May 20: Fleché to Port Credit

This year's fleché will be ending at Port Credit! Teams are forming and deciding on their routes already which is pretty exciting.

Fleché teams consist of 3-5 "machines" that must complete a route of at least 360k in exactly a 24h period. Teams can complete longer routes, but you have to take the full time! It's a fun group event where you can design your own route and go as fast or as slow as you like! You can see our Fleche rules on randonneursontarion.ca .

🚲 Upcoming Toronto rides

We're back to regular mass starts, with no limits on riders! Registration for Toronto rides closes the Friday at 6pm before the ride, and you'll receive a printed brevet card at the start.

Sat March 10 10:00 – Rouge Ramble 60 Populaire
Sat March 19 10:00 – Concord Bradford 75 Populaire
Sun March 27 09:00 – E-Z Toronto Loop 92 Populaire

Submit your brevet card and recorded activity (strava, ridewgps, garmin, etc.) to vp@randonneurs.to when you're done.
