Toronto Chapter updates: Centenary 300!

Hiya folks!

Summer's here and we're out RIDING! It's so great to be on the road, and see everyone coming out to the rides. We've had some incredible starts this year, with a ton of new and existing riders coming out to enjoy the roads. As it's a pre-PBP year, I expect to see more lovely faces but WOW! So many!

🥇 BRM 300 Centenary ride

That's right! We celebrated the centenary of the first 200 Brevet de Randonneur Mondiaux last year, and this year we're celebrating the centenary of the first 300 Brevet de Randonneur Mondiaux. Toronto will be riding The Pretty River Valley 300 route out of the Vaughan Metro station on July 11!

For those who don't read French (me!), I have provided you a computer-generated translation of the following article. No clue if it's accurate, so corrections are welcome!

Riders will attempt the 300 kilometer Brevet.
The 300 kilometer brevet for the Randonners, organized by the Audax Club Parisien, will take place on the 10th and 11th current. This test is open to all Randonneurs and Audax
possessing the brevet of 200 kilometers and done at free pace.

The itinerary, modified in its last partie, passes through Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Melon, Fontainebleau, Nemours, Montargis, Château-Renard, Joigny, Villeneuve-sur-Yon-
ne, Sens, Pont-sur-Yonne, Montereau, Le Chatelet, Melun, Coubert, Croissy, Villiers-sur-Marne, Champigny, Joinville, with departure and arrival at Porte-Dorée (Maynier, 282, avenue Daumesnil),

Departure control will be open on Saturday, at 9 p.m., for the distribution of arm bands and roadmaps, departure at 10 p.m. hours.

This test is within the reach of any good slightly trained cyclist, the route presents
303 kilometers of good roads. A time limit of 21 hours is granted to travel this distance.

Entries will be accepted until evening, Thursday, 8 instant, at the headquarters of the A.C.P., Brasserie Zimmer, 1, place du Chatelet, access accompanied by the number of the brevet of Randonneur or Audax 200 kilometres. Amount of commitment: 6 francs, of which 3 fr. 50 refunded in case of failure. Please join a photo (4x4), essential.

All competitors finishing in the time limit be entitled to the special badge and they will receive a diploma attesting to their performance.

We'll be providing a commemorative medal for finishers! Same as last year for the 200! Are you gonna catch 'em all?

Looking for something shorter?

Toronto will be running the Concord Orillia 200km Brevet at the same time as the Centenary. If you're looking for a shorter ride, come out and join a 200!
