Toronto Chapter updates: Membership, Awards and the New Year's populaire

Hiya folks!

Happy holidays and good tidings to y'all. It seems kinda weird to be sending out a randolist update with everything that's going on right now. But honestly, throughout all of the excitement over the past almost two years, we've been pretty consistent with being able to ride outside with your friends. 😊

I know I've said it before, but huge kudos to Dave Thompson and our friends at the OCA for giving Randonneurs Ontario the ability to keep on trucking through it all. I don't know exactly what next year will hold, but I know those folks are going to do their best to keep us on the road. (or off the road along flooded farmers' paths, but y'know.)

🍾 New Year's 25

The Toronto New Year's 25 populaire is still on this year, and we have a few riders already signed up. It's a great way to shake off the sleepies (or a hangover), and the weather is always unpredictably fun.

We have a new route this year, that starts from the Tim Horton's at 731 Eastern Ave., Toronto.

Registration for Toronto rides closes the Wednesday before the ride.

Sat Jan 1 10:00 – New Years 25 (new start!)
Sat March 12 10:00 Rouge Ramble 60 (new start!)
Sat March 19 10:00 – Concord Bradford 75

Submit your brevet card and recorded activity (strava, ridewgps, garmin, etc.) to vp@randonneurs.to when you're done.

You can still vote in our 2021 awards until Jan 2! We have lots of good stories about the nominees and some incredible riders out there.

What's happening with the awards dinner?

Good question! At least the Toronto dinner will not be in person at the end of January. The Board is still thinking about how to take it into the digital age. Reply to this email if you have any ideas about how we can make it virtual and fun!
